Between 2018-2019, via virtual international teams based out of the US and Tanzania, WS2 created two professional development workshops aimed at supporting and empowering women STEM students at the secondary and university levels.

Workshop Goals & Objectives
Organizing to Support Women in STEM
Goals
- To provide a framework for developing an organization that inspires and supports women at the university level
- To introduce techniques to motivate young students to join STEM fields
Specific Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of women and allies supporting women in STEM
- Develop simple foundational plans for an organization that supports women in STEM at the secondary or university level
- Develop and implement outreach programming to young girls and boys to spark an interest in STEM

- To motivate participants to pursue STEM careers through exposure to diverse career paths and successful individuals in STEM
- To provide self assessment and goal-setting tools to develop your career
